I've been slacking on the posts recently. After HANDS there hasn't been much to post, at least that I remember. Have to start sending myself funny messages throughout the day and see at the end of the day what is funny enough to post. In the meantime, this past weekends Simpsons episode reminded me of an image I made with the simpsons movie character creator based on a joke that my friend Del and I had.I did a little extra work in photoshop, but a few years ago I believe this was a good representation of both me and Del, now I don't know so much. I am working on that fu manchu mustache now so who knows...

Just Plain Wow...

Had to do it... went to KFC and had the "Double Down" which is two pieces of chicken sandwiching two pieces of bacon and two pieces of cheese, basically a heart attack waiting to happen.
Gotta admit it was pretty darned good. Not sure how many more of them I would ever allow myself to eat.

It's about time...

Finally got my PC back up and running. There was an issue with the hard drive being mapped onto F: instead of C: which set me back a day and todays major issue was getting my dual monitor set-up up and running. But now it's all ready to go with updated programs and so much faster with so much more space. Yay PC!

So without any further ado, here are the images that should have been posted last week before my comp went all poopy.

PC Update

found out the hard drive controller went bad or something like that. A few months back my mac hard drive went in my laptop that was 6 years old, and then this past week my PC hard drive went that was only about 3.5 yrs old. advantage mac.

picked up the parts so now I just have to put it all together. I know if I start tonight I won't stop until it is all back up so I am going to leave it until the morning. And once that is all back up and running I have sooooo much stuff to post.

Todays Quick Snaps

Whenever I was working freelance for the (most likely) straight to DVD movie we always passed this one wall that was covered in graffiti on our way to work. For the first week and a half it was a giant Madonna head (the pop-singer, not religious character) that was drooling or something. Then one day 'POOF' a giant Charlie Chaplin appeared on the wall over madonna holding a paint bucket and roller. with a giant heard around him. It was awesome. Never got the chance to take a pic and then today on my way to the 2nd interview with Shadow Animation I had a chance. Granted it was more of a luck shot, snappin the pic while driving and tryin to time out the picture without looking at what it was aimed at to be safer while driving. Turned out decent, with some nice motion blur effects on the car that drove past.Then I had a few minutes to wait before my interview so I snapped this pic of their wall where they had three of the Titan Maximum ships displayed. Pretty sweet. Then I felt weird about taking pictures so I stopped, sat down on the couch, and read the newspaper for the first time in way too long...

My New Toy

I finally broke down and bought a 2nd Monitor. I found a special deal on the Dell computers website and ended up getting a 23in HD widescreen monitor. It is awesome!
Now if only I could get my computer to work properly I could really make use of a second monitor. My Laptop does get in the way sometimes but it is fantastic for internet and such while I am trying to reformat my pc so it will work properly...

Pose Test

Had a Pose Test/Interview with Shadow Animation (aka Shadow Machine who does Robot Chicken, Moral Orel, and Titan Maximum). It was the most fun I have had doing a test for a job ever. I had to pose two characters in 10 poses, 5 for the smaller referee character (who is from Robot Chicken) using dialogue to try to convey whatever emotion should be shown for the character, and 5 poses of the Larger girl (from Titan Maximum) conveying specific emotions. I only took two quick pics with my phone before I started but wasn't sure if I was allowed.
Then I took a pic of the last pose I did which was "greedy".I think it went well, well enough that they called me on my way home asking me to come back tomorrow to talk to the VFX supervisor, so I guess that's a big plus. I had fun but wasn't sure if it was right for me since I am not a stop-motion animator though I would love to try. I will keep you posted once I hear any news.

There is another job that is starting interviews on Monday, so I guess it's one of those when it rains it pours kinda thing. Fingers crossed.

While I was on the internet a few nights ago, I went to a Torrent site that I frequent and was surprised to see one of the news headlines on the top of the page that read, "McDonough 'fired for refusing sex..."
Totally threw me for a loop, then after I clicked on the link, I realized that it wasn't as funny as it originally seemed.

The Great Outdoors...

Last week on our way to work Ben and I saw an interesting thing. At a stoplight while we were waiting in traffic we watch as a man wanders up to a bush in front of a laundromat, and commenced in what we perceived to be peeing all over the bush. He didn't even look around before starting the act, but while releasing his bladder pressure his eyes did seem to wander. Luckily we were far enough away to not see anything that we didn't want to see, except of course for a man peeing on the side of the road around 9:45 in the morning.

Earthquake!

Just survived another Earthquake. This one was the longest one that I've experienced. At least 2-3 minutes of the ground doin' the shimmy. I was upstairs on the computer tapping my foot to a music video, and everything started to sway and shake a bit like a slow Noah's Ark ride from Kennywood. I realized what was happening once I noticed that the shaking of my foot to the beat wasn't what was shaking everything else, and I was swaying my upper body something else was. It was kind of cool. Nothing seems to have fallen, it was quake a calm jostling. Now to get back into the working on a computer spirit after nature shook me awake to reality...
