I have always heard of "salt water taffy", but I realized that I have never actually heard of "tap water taffy" or even "bottled water taffy". Maybe everything that doesn't involve salt water is just considered regular "taffy". Except of course "Laffy Taffy", but that taffy is just crazy...

Truth!
Today while working on my computer I saw something on my monitor that made me laugh. Somehow the thumb-drive I was using was being designated as drive I:, which then meant, unbeknown to me, when I had opened my "work" folder and was perusing my project ideas I saw this as the address at the top of the folder...

I thought to myself, "I do work..." and then started laughing. then I was trying to take a camera phone picture of it, totally forgetting the print screen feature on almost all computers. Ben reminded me, I felt like a fool, then thought I would share it here.
Sadly though while I named that particular thumb-drive Fancypants whenever I first formatted it, the address on the opened thumb-drive is just a lame "I:\". If only it was I:/Fancypants. that would have been legendary!

Fuzzy 8 Legged Pain...
We spotted a large spider (about the size of a half dollar) on our ceiling last night. We have high ceilings and no one was interested in getting on a chair to put it in a box to put outside (or any other plans of the setting it free nature). Finally Ben and I grabbed some nerf guns and were taking shots at it, eventually knocking it down, just for it to scurry quickly under the entertainment center. We now have no idea where it is hiding, but are currently working on figuring out a name for it so we can feel victorious once it is gone...-eD

DMV Delusions...
It seems that now the California DMV believes that my last name is VII. I guess they don't have people in cali with suffix's at the end of their names. I know "the 7th" is a strange thing to have at the end of a name but how stupid can they be when they put McDonough in my middle name and think that is how it is suppose to be. Another speed bump in getting my CA driver's license, thanks California.
Maybe I should have changed my name back in college to Edwin Love like was suggested by friends...

eDit - I received another two notices regarding the exact same thing today that were mailed on the 24th. So, in 2 days I received 3 of the same notices, 1 from June 14th (that I finally received yesterday) and 2 from June 17th (that I received today). Way to waste more money California...

Concert
the security guy @ the concert said that my beard was way over 21 when he checked my id and chuckled. I smiled politely not understanding what the heck he meant. I didn't think I had that many gray hairs in there.
The Venue was pretty cool, called the Mayan. The ceiling had this cool artwork that looked like a ufo the way it was lit and how it turned out in the picture...

I also saw something that I never thought I had seen before... A green "EXIT" sign. I think they are usually red, I thought it was a law. But it had me creeped out and amazed all night.

Thursday E3
Didn't take too many pictures today, but I did play a lot of games. So much fun to be able to go to an event not open to the public (not to mention free), but the chance to try out video games and see technology that will not be released for months to a year or more in the future. My pictures today were more goofing around, even more so than yesterday.
The Naruto Nut Punch!
Showing the Fire Benders that I can bend fire too. Though, like Sonic yesterday, they do not seem impressed...
Fun times. Really need some rest, and a day without walking a buncha miles would be nice too...

Wednesday E3 Randomness
I missed the first day of E3 yesterday by going to California Adventure, so today was my first day at E3! I had a lot more fun this year. Ben and I just wandered around looking at the different booths, and planned our video game adventure. We played a few things, and got a bit of free stuff of as well. Here are some pictures...
First the initial Ha Ha of the day...
Have you seen this item called "Booty Pop"? It is basically padded panties that make girl's booties "pop". They don't look good, and they don't look real. Here is some proof...
Me in an Exosuit, obviously the power has gone to my head...
I think Sonic thinks I'm lame...
Pac-man heard I had balls...
I met Michael Jai White star of Black Dynamite, Spawn, the Dark Knight, Blood & Bone and tons of other movies, and a nice guy!
There was even a concert with Method Man & Redman promoting the new Def Jam Rap Star video game. This was my favorite picture...
My favorite piece of free stuff was this wolf hood that has arm/mitten/pocket things (it's weird) but it's also comfy and fun. I kept forgetting I had it on tonight after I got home. Gonna try to get a few more tomorrow if I can...
Tomorrow I am going to try to get a few more pictures and have some fun time with these unreleased games! I need to put more business cards in my wallet too I'm all out.

Day 02 - California Adventure
The 2nd day we went to California Adventure. I had about 3 hrs sleep, drove 45 minutes towards Anaheim to meet Hobbs, Dar & the kids at their hotel. Got there early so I took a nap in the car, still pretty sick from the mystery cold that seemed to effect us all in different degrees. So we all needed some energy drinks...
Oh! Another example of the power of cropping. A staged picture with Tommy smelling an empty Monster (energy drink) can that I thought would be funny. It was, and is...
A lot of walking, some rides, a few shows, and meeting even more Disney characters including Chip & Dale, Woody, Jesse, and Green Army Men (from toy story), Donald (I got a picture with him too), and I think there were a few others too but I honestly can't remember. We were all tired and the adults were all mildly sick (me on recovery) so we were a bit sluggish.
Here are some random pictures that I took and some comments about them. Jenna got her face painted like the Aristocat's cat, but in this poor lighting condition and at this angle it looks like clown paint! She was smiling but my timing was off to cause this happy accident picture.
Figment! Does anyone besides me and my sister remember this guy? I did some research and he is the mascot for Epcot center. Hobbs didn't know who he was, so I had to school him...
I have no idea what this means so I took a picture.
This is my adjustment to the sign. I like mine better...
This next picture caused the start of my look-alike search the rest of the day and still going strong though I haven't taken too many pictures because of the conditions. It lets me be like a ninja with a camera phone...
(the "!" was because it was such a statement, I know it should be a "?")
This next picture was another based on confusion. I saw something on this woman's butt. I wasn't staring it just seemed like it was wrong. I couldn't tell if it was a tag, patch, sticker, my imagination or what, so I took a quick picture so I wouldn't have to stare to figure it out. Still not exactly sure, but that is some horrible placement for whatever it is...
The last time I went to California Adventure I lost my phone (the only time I was able to use the insurance that I have on my phone plan). I went back to the scene of the crime and took some pictures to give y'all a better mental picture. It was night when I lost the phone but daytime shows more details so forgive me of that fact.
I did finally buy something for myself above meal food and drinks on our way out of the park. Still haven't opened it, waiting for the right moment...
Another awesome day, a bit more sun burn but I was able to even it out a bit my giving my head/face some sun time throughout the day, and by not wearing a necklace I almost got rid of the white ring that it caused from day one. Also my mind blisters grew and became angry, still totally worth it.

Day 01 - Disney
Didn't take too many pictures with my phone the first day, but I know that Dar took a lot of pictures of the kids that I can't wait to see. But here are a few that I took of things that made me laugh and other pictures.
The first one is one that Dar took with her phone. This is an example of the power of cropping...
Here is the original picture. I look at backgrounds in pictures and this one features a small girl's butt. Simple crop problem solved...
It's a small world, the ride is a classic you have to ride once anytime you visit Disney, just so you get mildly creeped out at the international cabbage patch kids and get the song stuck in your head. I passed on the second chance to ride I will admit. Couldn't handle it a second time... Though I did ride the Merry Go Round twice.
I think my favorite part was Toontown, but we didn't get to spend too much time there to wander. we had agendas! Jenna had a princess make-over including make-up, hair, and a princess dress that she wore the rest of the day. Cutest thing I have seen in ages.
It seems that Disney likes Hands as much as I do. Can't believe I didn't think of a fish, banana peel, or whoopie cushion. Maybe next year or another random month in the future I will do a round two. We shall see...
Crashed. Thought this was a classic dude kicking back pose that can easily lead to a nap. Proof...
We got to see and Jenna got autographs and pictures with Cruella DeVille, Goofy, Pluto, Mickey & Minnie Mouse, a few fairies (including Tinkerbell), and Dar and Jenna went to see the Princesses while the guys wandered a bit. A great day at Disney besides the sunburn from wearing a backwards hat and sunglasses at the same time leaving a mostly white head under the hat and varying degrees of burn on the back of my neck.
Then on the drive home about a half mile South of Crenshaw on the 105 North there was a small fire in the grass on the side of the road. It was growing to the size of a short bus, most likely caused by sparks or a lit cigarette thrown from the window. Crazy sight to see, but I didn't want to risk fumbling for my phone to take a picture. Safety first and all...

Burnt & Blistered...
2nd day at the Theme Parks, evened out some of the sunburn, just burnt above and beyond on the tops of my hands, and my face feels warmer than it should. The blisters on my feet are larger, and one on my right heel started yelling at me today, so tomorrow walking around E3 will be interesting. I should have all the photos from my phone organized to post for tomorrow from both days at the park. Whenever I get the pictures from Dar and Hobbs I will post some of them here...
I took more random pictures on my phone than anything. A lot of things are too difficult to capture from a camera phone though, speed-wise or because of proximity to the item. This was mostly about strange people's body types, facial expressions, choice of attire, lack of clothes and other random thoughts that verged on negative humor jokes about the way people look/move/act.
I did see a kid that looked just like the fat german kid "Augustus:" from willy wonka, then his mom walked over to him and it made it hilarious cause she looked just like the mom character from the movie. Luckily I called it out to Hobbs and he was able to witness the humor before the mom walked over to him. We had a little quote session from the movie, while waiting for the parade to come through California Adventure. Definitely a "you had to be there" kind of story, but I thought I would waste your time with it anyway heh.

Woo Disney Day Completed
Will post more pictures and funny stuff of the trip as soon as I can. Need sleep but here is a taste...
Bickitty Bam my friends! dual wielding Buzz Lightyear blasters. My R hand scored 37,200 while my left covered him with a measly 11,100. I was trying to shoot two different different directions for some reason for a while too. Hobbs got a 38 thousand somethin, but he claimed to be trying to help out tommy. I'll give him a pass. Maybe we can figure out who the better shot it tomorrow...-eD

A small order...
After picking up Hobbs, Dar, Tommy, and Jenna we stopped off at McDonald's to get them some food. After Tommy was finished he walked to the counter and just stood there. I think he was looking at all the different patterns on the tiles and marbles, but it looked like he was ready to order. Very cute, unfortunately this was the best pic I could get of it.
These kids are going to tire me out...-eD
DMV Round 3...
Woke up early to get to the Social Security offices, found parking quickly and there was even an hour and some minutes left from the last person who parked there. I thought to myself, what a break in the BS that was. Then I get to the offices and have to take a number and wait. When it is my turn I get to the teller and explain what had happened. She looked up my info, and I gave her my ID, Soc Card, Birth Cert and she said that there was nothing wrong. She printed out my info stamped it, signed it, stamped it with another stamp then handed it back to me. She claimed that this piece of paper will prove that everything is fine and to go through with the license. I was happy that everything was fine, but then the other emotions started coming into play remembering I just wasted not only two trips to Santa Monica, but 80cents for parking to fix nothing!
I get back to the DMV and walk straight to the license area and wait in a small line (I am next). A 2nd teller appears and calls me over. After hearing what the issue was, she passes me off to teller #1 who was who I talked to yesterday. She was finishing with an old woman, who probably shouldn't drive considering she could hardly hear what the teller was saying and couldn't read the paper in front of her face, but whatever. When it's my turn she puts in the number and the same thing happens. She starts to give me some attitude like it was my fault that I didn't get the problem fixed at the Social Security office and I start to get angrier. She tells me that it is still wrong, that she doesn't know what is wrong, but I have to go back to social security and get help from someone who actually knows what they are doing. At this point my fingers are starting to curl and my teeth are gritting even though I am pushing out whatever words I can to explain that there is nothing wrong with my Social S # and to not start bursting out vulgarities and my true opinion of her. Obviously she has no idea what she is talking about and is ready to send me back to the social security office because she doesn't know what is going on. I ask to see a manager and she is extremely hesitant, but finally teller 2 tells me where to go.
I walk over to an area at the side of the main tellers and wait for about 10 minutes for a supervisor or anyone who can help. In that time 3 people asked me if I had been helped and then walked away to do nothing. Finally a woman who I believed to be a manager took my paperwork, walked around for a few minutes, sat at a desk and then after waiting a few more minutes I walked over to her. She seemed a bit confused but kept trying things. I explained everything to her like I did to teller #1 and poof, it goes through fine. She claimed that the computers were running slow and that was why it wasn't going through...
Oh good grief. I have had enough with the DMV for a long long time. 3 days this week, two unnecessary trips to the social security offices, and so many hours I will never get back. AND I have to wait 2-4 weeks or some crap for my cali license to be sent in the mail. Great...

DMV Round 2
Round 2 of my DMV adventure lasted 2 hours, there wasn't even a line outside like last time. After sitting down and waiting about an hour and a half it was finally my turn. I passed the test, only missing 4. Then for some reason I could not finish the proper procedure for the rest of the license because the DMV lady said my social security number was wrong. The same one that I have been using all my life. I showed her my social security card, birth certificate and my PA license and she still had no idea what to do. The computer was saying that my name was VII not Edward like it should have been. They told me that I had to go to the S. Security offices and take care of whatever was going on and to come back finish it once it is fixed. The offices were about 2.5 miles from the DMV however it took me over an hour to get there because of horrendous traffic. Once I got there I parked and put 80 cents into the meter to buy me 40 minutes of parking space. Went to the 3rd floor and they were closed. They closed like 15 minutes before I even got there! Gah such a long day of waiting and frustrations. Maybe after Round 3 of the DMV this will all be sorted...

DMV Round 1
DMV Adventure begins! I knew I was in for a world of boredom...
I wish I could have seen who was driving, but basically they backed up over the cone (with a wild 3-5 pt turn), and then proceeded to drive into the parking lot where a DMV employee and a parking security guard walked after them. A few minutes later I watch the driver park a few rows from where they entered with the cone still under their car. If I didn't have my headphones in I would have heard other people's reactions, but it did seem like everyone got a few smiles because of it.

Turns out I need a passport or my Birth Certificate along with my last drivers license to get a new one. Never knew that. Waited in line 40 minutes to learn that. But at least I got to see this while waiting in line outside...

Spanish Channels
For some reason Ben chose to keep the TV on the spanish channel. I guess it was because Matrix Reloaded was on, and he thought it was funny. I agree that it amused me for a bit, but I just wanted the Agent to call keanu "Senior Smith" but I never got a chance. The channel was changed before Hugo Weaving was even on the screen, but I wasn't complaining, I only took a few years of French and Japanese, Spanish is just confusing to me, weird mouth expressions and a tendency towards mustaches...

New Word!
"Flarf" (a.k.a. Fat Lethargic and Ridiculous Fool) - When you feel out of it, don't feel like doing anything, but can't truly explain why.
It all started out as a sound I made to express how I felt, which was more strange and tiring than "Blah". Ben asked me what I said and replied honestly with "Flarf" when he asked me what I meant, I didn't have an explanation so I decided to create and anogram for it. Took me a while to figure one out that wasn't using the F for a curse word but I think this gets the point across.
If anyone has a better definition for what this could possibly mean or stand for I will gladly listen to them.

Just saw this commercial again on TV and had to share it for anyone who may not watch espn or late night comedy central...
This commercial is hilarious! not sure if I condone the service or not, but at least they are staying out of the singles online community and not wasting space on craig's list with their debauchery.
