Creativity Update...

a lot of things are still too early to show.  I have to fire my last sculpt so I can move onto my next sculpt/experiment. I figured I would finally show where I was with the apartment for the main character of Overcast...

There are still many things that need added/adjusted.  And there will be tons of props, most of which have been on my demo reel in some form or another sometime in the last 8 years...  Once the style of the characters has been figured out and the environmental style is set I will be remodeling a lot of these assets, and most of the items are temporary (still no floor or ceiling).  Hope to have the apartment figured out by weekend, at least the modeling and placement, I can worry about textures later.

The last few pictures I have taken of my painting didn't really show the minute detail I was adding to the eyes and teeth so I figured I would wait to post anything on that for a bit.  Should have the yellow on there by the end of the week as well.  Hopefully.  Figure two days of painting yellow passes, maybe a twice a day thing to get it more prepped for weekend details...

I've been a bit busy.  Finally got ref for a character I was going to model for a music video, and the character designs for Overcast started to come in today, so I'm in a pretty good mood.  I should probably eat though, I imagine.  coffee for breakfast and lunch while keeping me perky probably isn't the healthiest...

"Imagination is more important than knowledge.  For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution." - Albert Einstein

Painting Photo Catch Up

Kinda forgot to snap a pic when I had pencils down for the shapes, but it would have been hard to see.  You can kind of see some of the shapes below...

Painted the gums, uvula, inner cheek, and a few different shaded layers for the tongue.  I may go back and add more detail once I have more done...

After first two layers of the stars shadow color, wasn't anticipating this much paint streaking. it may be the primer, or the paint, but I am trying to get it to work in my favor...

(Apologize for the awkward angle) after another few coats of shadow color on the star and I painted up all his teeth.

this weeks goal is to get the eyes, the black interior in the mouth, and all of the main star to at least have a fully functional yellow coat.  After that it will be details and my attempts at shading.  Thinking of calling this piece "Hollywood", but we'll see.

Photo Updates

I was bringing in the trash cans on Monday and something flew past my face and smashed into the driveway...

A Dragonfly dive bombed himself into the driveway.

He twitched for a while then flipped over and hung out for a while, but he stayed in the same spot until i finished bringing in the bins, and went inside.  Told Ben about it and he went out and took some pictures with his new camera.

Set up my Keurig on my desk in my bedroom.

Now I can make coffee  in the mornings without going downstairs.

While I was in the studio yesterday I made a shirt for the UpDownUp concert.

I did it for fun and to show my support but a bunch of people thought I bought it somewhere.  I took an old shirt and turned it inside out, made a quick stencil and sprayed two layers of primer on it.  Turned out pretty good I suppose.  I guess the frosty edges added to the mystique of it.

Guess that's all for now...  I'll have some more stuff by the end of the week I imagine...

Took a bunch of pictures my sister took and made em into a lil animated slideshow. Didn't spend much time on it, probably more than I should have though honestly...
